The revelation that star winger Julia Robinson will stay in Brisbane until at least the end of 2027 led the Broncos to sign forward Mariah Denman for an additional two seasons.

As the Broncos made their first playoff appearance since 2021, Denman won the team’s NRLW Player of the Year, NRLW Players’ Player, and NRLW Most Consistent trophies last season.

Denman, who had no contract in place for 2024, is now officially confirmed as the 19th player in Brisbane’s starting lineup for the upcoming campaign.

Robinson, a 26-year-old Jillaroos and Maroons representative, consented to a new two-year contract, which is why she received a new one.

“I’m so excited, I’ve always wanted to be a one club person and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the Broncos for all of my rugby league career,” Robinson stated.

“I hope to bring home the trophy for Brisbane, reach the grand final once more, and win a few more Premierships.”

Mahalia Murphy, a dual international, has decided to sign a two-year contract extension with the Eels. Murphy received the NRLW Coaches Award for the club during her rugby league comeback season last year. She was named to the Women’s Indigenous All Stars team this week.

For the 2024 and 2025 NRLW seasons, the Sharks have signed New Zealand rugby union forward Pia Tapsell.

The 25-year-old, who made six Test appearances for the Black Ferns in 2019, becomes the newest cross-code convert to join the Cronulla club.

Resuming play this year following an ACL injury, Tapsell will play in the Super W for Perth’s Western Force in the early going before switching to rugby in time for the NRLW season to begin in July.

Pia has been a full-time athlete for five years, making her the epitome of professionalism, according to Sharks coach Tony Herman.

“We think she’s a great addition to our squad and we’re excited to see what she’ll bring.”
