Evans High School product Short is a four-star offensive lineman in 2025. He was once committed to Alabama, but he changed his mind as soon as it became known that Nick Saban would be retiring. The Georgia native has Clemson, Georgia, Kentucky, and Ohio State in his top four, with Alabama keeping a close eye on his recruiting.

By paying him a visit when they were out recruiting, the Crimson Tide’s new coaching staff under Kalen DeBoer seemed to be putting a lot of effort into nurturing a relationship with Short.

It is significant to note that Scott Huff, the offensive line coach for the Tide, attended the trips. After a brief tenure, he left the programme to take a job as the offensive line coach for the Seahawks.

After being cut by the Cincinnati Bengals, AJ McCarron, a three-time BCS National Champion during the Nick Saban era, is joining the United Football League (UFL) again as a member of the St. Louis Battlehawks. The 33-year-old, a native of Mobile, Alabama, spoke with Simone Eli of WKRG TV on how delighted he is that Saban is enjoying his retirement.

In reference to Saban’s retirement announcement, McCarron said, “I just told him how proud I was of him.” “What a crazy run it was, and hell, it’s time to go enjoy life, his grandchildren, and a round of golf.” I told him I was coming to beat his ass at golf and get some of that NIL money I lost out on as soon as this season ended and I had some time off.
