A number of students at Auburn University have been suspended for what is believed to be a video that shows junior running back Jarquez Hunter participating in lewd behavior. It should be mentioned that the school, not the athletic department, was the source of the indefinite suspensions.
Everything began during the course of the previous 48 hours when several videos purportedly featuring Hunter having sex became viral on social media.
Auburn declared, “We take this matter very seriously and are aware of the situation.” “A comprehensive review is being carried out by the relevant offices. Auburn Athletics department rules violations have resulted in indefinite sanctions. At this point, no more remarks will be made.”
Update: When OutKick contacted Jennifer Adams, a representative for Auburn, she stated that the university was unable to provide the names of those suspended due to college policies.
We have also made contact with the Auburn Police Department to find out if they are conducting any kind of investigation at this time.
A video of someone capturing a sexual act with an anonymous female was circulated prior to the account being locked. The issue and the manner in which these videos ended up on social media are currently being looked into by the school. Whether each party was aware that they were being filmed is unknown at this time.
Late Friday night, the account that was tweeting the videos went private. The account holder mentioned on Twitter that you could pay them $5 to watch the video. There may be additional problems as a result for all parties concerned.
The Auburn statement was first reported by Rivals’ Brian Stultz.
Auburn football has not made public the identities of any suspended players because the information came directly from the institution. Non-athletes may also be a part of the group.
Twitter suspended the account that was uploading the videos on Wednesday night, and the suspension took effect on Thursday afternoon.
It’s unclear if the participants in the film were aware that it would be shared extensively. Furthermore, it’s unclear how the video went viral on social media this week.
In 2022, Jarquez Hunter ran for 675 yards and seven touchdowns. Over his Auburn career, he has amassed 1,269 running yards. This fall, the Montgomery junior should play a significant role for the Tigers.
The football department has been contacted by OutKick for a statement. Follow along as this tale unfolds.
