ALLEN PARK – Jameson Williams is dealing with an ankle injury heading into the final week of the regular season.

The Detroit Lions receiver has been on the rise for weeks and made his longest catch to date Saturday night in Dallas, landing a 63-yard bomb after being released behind the Cowboys defense in the fourth quarter.

However, he subsequently suffered an injury and was unable to finish the match, limping out of the locker room after the eventual 20–19 defeat.

Four days later, Williams was not cleared to practice as Detroit began preparations for the finale against the Minnesota Vikings.

The playoffs are next week, but it appears the injury risks are low. Detroit is cautious with the speedy receiver and will be cautious with any player injured in the Vikings game.

The starters will play as the Lions’ No. 2 shooter — and avoid their first losing streak of the season en route to the playoffs — but they’ll be careful with players who aren’t fully healthy this late in the season .
