Despite not having participated in a game since January 25th, Marcus Foligno has been awarded 27 more hits as a result of a league-wide audit conducted during the 2024 NHL All-Star break.
From 129 to 156 was Foligno’s increase. Despite just having 27 hits this season, he is currently 11th in the NHL after ranking tenth with 129 hits. A terrific explanation of why this all occurred can be found in an article written by Michael Russo of the Athletic on the NHL’s major hits audit.
Even yet, it’s strange to watch some of the Wild’s players significantly increase their hit totals without adding on extra time or doing anything else. Foligno is one of several NHL players whose season-long hit total has significantly increased.
