NEW DELHI: Kawhi Leonard turned in a breakout performance, scoring nine of his 36 points in the final five minutes to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a 149-144 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.

Leonard’s efforts helped the Clippers extend their winning streak to four games.

In addition to his scoring, Leonard contributed crucial plays in the final minutes of the game, including a field goal at the 4:52 mark, a game-winning drive and a key 3-pointer.

He finished the game shooting 13 of 20 from the field, including five three-pointers.

James Harden also performed impressively, scoring 30 points, making six 3-pointers and recording a double-double with eight rebounds and ten assists.

The Clippers got off to a hot start, with Harden contributing three 3-pointers in the first quarter, helping them build a 12-point lead.

De’Andre Hunter led the scoring for the Hawks with 27 points, while Trae Young recorded 25 points and 12 assists.

Despite their efforts, the Hawks’ four-game winning streak was snapped.

The game featured competitive back-and-forth action, with both teams showcasing their offensive capabilities. Daniel Theis hit a long 3-pointer at the third-quarter buzzer to give the Clippers a 102-101 lead.

Both teams were without starters, with Ivica Zubac out for the Clippers due to load management and Clint Capela out for the Hawks with a left adductor strain.

The Clippers now return home for three games, starting with a matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Hawks travel to face the Boston Celtics on Wednesday.
