On a three-and-a-half-year contract, Bolton Wanderers signed forward Aaron Collins from Bristol Rovers, and defender Caleb Taylor joined on loan from West Bromwich Albion.

Collins, 26, has increased his club record to 39 in 139 games this season with five goals in 36 appearances for the Gas.

The 21-year-old centre back, Taylor, made his senior debut in August 2021 and has since played nine games for the Baggies.

Additionally, he played on loan at Cheltenham, where he scored two goals in 49 games.

Rovers are disappointed by Collins’ departure because manager Matt Taylor had stated that the team was “playing catch-up” in terms of transfers, even though Chris Martin, the striker, extended his contract in January.

According to Pete Oliver, Wanderers are happy to announce that striker Aaron Collins has joined the team in a significant transaction.

The 26-year-old was signed by the Whites on a contract that runs until June 2027 from Bristol Rovers for an unknown sum.

Collins, who scored 16 goals for the Pirates to earn League One Player of the Year the previous season, joins Wanderers as their third winter transfer window addition. He will wear shirt number 28.

The Welshman, who led Rovers to promotion from League Two in 2022 as well, will significantly improve Wanderers’ current offensive options as they attempt to maintain their promotion challenge and make future improvements.
