A Kansas City Chiefs player is trying to defuse some of the controversy that has surrounded the broadcast of the team’s game against the Miami Dolphins in the wild-card stage.
The only way to see this Saturday night’s game between Kansas City and Miami if you don’t reside within 35 miles of either city is if you have NBC’s Peacock membership service. Some fans have called for a boycott of watching the game on the site since it won’t be aired on NBC networks throughout the nation.
Charles Omenihu, a first-year defensive lineman with the Chiefs, was horrified to learn that the playoff match he would be participating in was only available via streaming. To let others know, he took to the once-popular Twitter network.
Omenihu contacted Peacock with the intention of “seeing our Chiefs fans happy.” He made a suggestion, which the brand gladly embraced.
Tuesday night, Omenihu made the announcement that he would be giving Peacock ninety three-month memberships. Fans only need to respond to the tweet below to be eligible to enter. On Friday, January 12, the winners will be chosen.
For this rookie, it’s the ideal opportunity to express his appreciation to Chiefs Kingdom. They stood by him during his initial six-game suspension, and he has since played a great six games, racking up sacks in each of them. It’s important to watch the game with as many eyes as possible since he will undoubtedly carry over his success into the playoffs.
